Yo la tengo is a noise pop band from Hoboken, New Jersey in 1984 conformed by
Ira Kaplan in guitars, Georgia Hubley on the drum and James McNew on bass. They
are still playing and composed by the same members since its foundation.
With more than 15 edited albums and an
uninterrupted career, they are an example for alternative music demonstrating
that you can make a recognized career without having to compromise your
principles or become a professional and boring band.
I met them a couple of years ago and I became
addicted to their music, but the moment that marked me was when I saw them live
at the primavera fauna festival. i had the terrible
idea of going on drugs but by the time they play I was more sober.
I do not know if it was the trip residue in my
blood but the show was amazing and after the concert I was lucky enough to meet
them and ask them to sign me a cap as a souvenir.
For me to listen to yo la tengo is a catharsis, and I do not want to sound like a dirty hippie but the
mass of noise and quiet moments its music of I take you on a
journey full of emotions.
